Scientific Coaching Personal Cycle Coaching Programmes

Scientific Coaching offers a range of different cycle and triathlon coaching programmes designed to fit your needs and aspirations. From three or six monthly training summaries to detailed quarterly, monthly and weekly programmes there is sure to be a packaging offering you the advice and support you need and at a price you can afford. Cycle coaching is a two way process so all services include personal feedback from your cycle coach together with additional 1-2-1 support as specified. Once signed up with Scientific Coaching you may be entitled to discounts the range of products and services offered. All coaching plans are written specifically for the individual by myself, Dr Auriel Forrester and all one-2-one coaching sessions are taken with me. We don't use computer generated plans - all are written to suit you !!

To sign for for a coaching programme you will need to complete the booking form and pay the appropriate deposit. Follow the links below For fitness assessment and bike set up only or our 1-2-1 training sessions please follow the links on the left of the page.

FULL CYCLE COACHING PACKAGES : choose a package that provides you with the frequency of review of your training and the level of personal coach interaction and support that your desire - or phone to discuss bespoke training packages. All clients on 6month or longer packages are entitled to the discounted rate on other services plus access to the member's only area. All programmes available for 6 months at 65% of stated fee and payable in full.
Silver package : six periodised training plans with full bimonthly reveiws, includes up to three fitness assessment and 1-2-1 training sessions.

DD Option : £150 initial payment plus 11monthly payments of £40.00 or Pay in full and get one month's coaching FREE
6 plans plus 3 test & 3hrs 1-2-1 + turbo training plan £590 (via DD option) or £550 as one off payment Booking form and sign-up questionnaire
Gold package : Looking for more regular appraisal of your progress and / or a closer working relationship with your cycle or triathlon coach. The GOLD package provides the same service as silver but with monthly reviews of progress and training and closer 1-2-1 cycle coach consultation allowing better monitoring and development of your training. Ideal for the specific needs of triathlon or multiple competition aims

DD Option : £150 initial payment plus 11monthly payments of £75.00 or Pay in full and get one month's coaching FREE
Monthly reviews of training plus 3 fitness assessments and 6hrs 1-2-1 plus turbo programmes £975 (via DD option) or £900 as one off payment Booking form and sign-up questionnaire
Platinum package : the ultimate in personal coaching with almost unlimited 1-2-1 support, fortnightly reviews and updates of your training. Provides the additional motivation and support to help you succeed. A must for those with busy lives or to gain the most from your SRM Power Cranks (see Training Support for further details)

DD Option : £175 initial payment plus 11monthly payments of £125.00 or Pay in full and get one month's coaching FREE
12 months coaching with fortnightly reviews, up to 12hrs of 1-2-1 and 4 fitness assessments £1550 (via DD) or £1425 as one off payment Booking form and sign-up questionnaire

Please note that fitness assessments and 1-2-1 review sessions are normally carried out during Monday - Friday normal office hours. Evening and weekend slots may be available for an additional fee.

Further information on Cycle and Triathlon Coaching Options

1. One-Off and General Fitness Programmes

Shorter, structured training plans aimed at those looking to prepare for a specific event or looking to gain general fitness and looking for some direction rather than those looking at more serious endeavors or needing additional support.

Such as :
Structured winter training
Peaking for a specific event
Preparation for specific event such as the Etape de Tour or a charity trek.

2. 12 month (annual) Coaching Plans

Bronze : a basic training plan covering up to six months to provide you with additional detail compared with a basic one-off plan and help you prepare progressively for your event. 1-2-1 sessions and personal cycle coaching support are available as "bolt-ons" at the discounted rate so a good value "pay as you go" coaching option

Silver : for those looking for year round coaching support (although six month options are available) the silver package includes an overall plan for the year, individual programmes for each of the different "phases" or training periods during the year (normally 4-6) and bimonthly reviews of your progress and programme plan. Also included are three fitness assessments during the year and the indoor training programmes plus three hours of 1-2-1 (usually to coincide with the tests). This package is best suited to the experience rider looking for additional support and direction to help them succeed but no requiring regular communication.

Gold : includes all the benefits of silver but with the benefit of monthly reviews of the programme to ensure your training is tailored to your event calendar plus regular 1-2-1 cycle coaching sessions. These sessions could be face to face or "virtual" or a combination of both as suits. Many riders choose to combine their “hours” leading to quarterly three hour meetings for example, tagged onto a sports massage and / or a fitness assessment. The Gold package is ideally suited to triathletes needing to manage work, family and a the demands of a multisport event or cyclist looking for the additional support and motivation provided by more regular contact with the coach.

Platinum : THE ultimate package for personal support, fortnightly updates as required via phone, email or 1-2-1, detailed analysis of your sessions and weekly training plans to fit in around your business life, family and other commitments – or to help you achieve maximize your potential. Essential for those with high ambitions, short on time and / or to gain maximum benefit from hi-tech equipment such as the SRM power training crank system. The equivalent of a personal fitness adviser and trainer. The same benefits as the pro’s get but without the suffering ! Weekly debriefing can also be arranged for a small additional cost.

3. Coaching Support : Bolt on Services …?

Improvement in cycling and triathlon isn’t just about physical fitness. Having a bike properly set up and one that fits you is critical; and there is the skill of cycling itself – gear selection, climbing, descending, adopting the right pedalling action and frequency; not to mention keeping your machine in optimum mechanical condition.
